What will NV Energy's daily demand charge cost you?

Tick what runs at the same time in your house. The charge is billed on your single highest 15 minute stretch each day, so what matters is not how much you use, it is how much you use at once.

The daily demand charge is $0.14 for every kilowatt in the highest 15 minute average of each day, added up across the billing period. It was approved by the Public Utilities Commission in docket 25-02016 and is scheduled for January 1 2027, under appeal.

The figures below are typical starting points, not your equipment. Change any of them to the nameplate rating on your own unit and the answer changes with it.

What this does not tell you

Whether your net metering credits can be applied to this charge is genuinely disputed. NV Energy's own page says excess energy credits are applied each month to daily demand costs. Solar advocates, quoted in the Nevada Independent in May 2026, say they cannot be. The tariff language that would settle it is not published, so we are not going to guess it for you, and anyone who states it flatly today is guessing.
